Easily store energy in the form of ice – An ice accumulator, also called an ice bank, can buffer and deliver energy through ice water at a temperature of +/- 0.5°C. With an ice bank, a peak in required cooling power can be accommodated without the need for large electrical power and/or a larger refrigeration system.
Another way to use an ice bank is to limit the consumption of electrical energy during a day to desired times or alternative sources such as solar energy, for example.
