Churn

Churning is the process by which milk is acidified and agitated causing the fat membranes in the milk to break. The fat particles clump together and separate from the milk. This creates butter and buttermilk. Then, by kneading well, a nice creamy butter forms.

For butter preparation, either milk or cream can be started. C. van ‘t Riet Zuiveltechnologie B.V. manufactures and supplies equipment for all process steps. A nice detail is that in addition to butter and buttermilk, yogurt and Kefir can also be produced with the churn.
